Special Thanks

A special thanks to Sandra Valens, Christopher Hickman, Linda Warner, Cathy McGurk, Paul & Karen St. Cyr, Louise Otto, Ellis Andrews, and Vickie Kaminski for your donations for the Ride To Conquer Cancer.  $2,784.50 has been raised to date and this weekend everyone will be cycling over 200km from Spruce Meadows to Chain Lakes Provincial Park and back again.  The weekend promises to fabulous weather, fantastic rolling hills and amazing people.

Monday morning I helped a gentleman and his wife purchase a brand new bicycle for their daughter’s Ride.

He said, “last year she rode for me and we followed along behind her in their car to make sure she had enough food and water, and got to the finish line each day.  This year we want to get her a lighter bike for the Ride as a surprise.”

This March he received the green light of health and has since been out training with her for this special weekend.  There are many incredible stories like this one and I can’t wait to see them riding into camp together.  Together we all can make a difference.  Help support my drive to achieving $3,000 by making a donation at: RTCC 2010

$3.3 Million dollars raised – The Heart & Stroke Becel Ride for Heart – Sunday, June 6

Regardless of the rain that made for some wet riding 13,000 riders cycled along the Gardiner Express and Don Valley Parkway, the Toronto Becel Ride for Heart was sold out and $3.3 Million dollars was raised!  This was a first!  Thank you Toronto!  And thanks to all of the volunteers that made the event a fantastic one!
